Techs and their numbers

Mara Andrews
Recent events had required serious contemplation. There had been the expedition to the warehouse, for which ramifications were still being brought to light, and after the fact all the more had been revealed to Mara  and it had set her adrift in a sea of uncertainty.
It was why she'd not been around much, so she keeps telling herself, why she hadn't reached out to the others she had met. She was making sure of things. But now she was breaking from that rut, and working to bridge gaps, relay information.
It was from the little hotel in which she had made her den that Mara stepped, shrugging on that red leather jacket of her's despite the heat of the sun, she had places to go, it seemed, as the woman turned from the hotels entrance with purpose, her stride long and in no way meandering. The look on her features were patently neutral, but to those with the eye to notice the finer things would note the drawn look on her features, the bags under her eyes. The woman wasn't sleeping well, something was weighing on her conscious.

Shoshannah Mitchell
Today hasn't been the best day for Shoshannah, and she's not weathering it particularly well.  Being of ill temper only exacerbates that creepy feeling she can't help giving off, and so it is that she finds herself window shopping alone, pushing her bike along, not far from the hotel Mara's calling home base.  It's easy to tell she's there even when one isn't overtly looking, as Mara is, and today the Akashic's especially perceptive.
Run-ins with potential enemies tend to do that to one.
So there they are, each recognizing the presence of the other (though Shoshannah doesn't recognize it specifically as Mara, just as someone she's met once before).  The younger girl's piercing, flaying blue eyes find their way to the older (shorter, more tattooed - so many differences between the two women) quickly enough, though it takes a moment for the nod of recognition to come.  Actual greeting doesn't come until most of the distance between them is closed, though.  "Hey."
And it's as simple as that.

Mara Andrews
The last the pair had seen of each other had been at the bar when Serafine played, and so many of them had been introduced to one another. An event which had seemed like a lifetime ago at this point. Shoshannah's piercing gaze meets Mara's tired, but alert eyes. It is no surprise that Mara's eyes are the first to avert, the feeling given off by Shoshannah driving most bystanders away, leaving the pair with a buffer about them.
Shoshannah offers her greeting, a quick 'hey' all that is necessary and Mara nods back, a pensive smile following a nod before Mara at last spoke.
"Hey girl....been a while, how you doing?" Mara does her level best to keep the disturbing nature of the woman from getting to her, and for now she succeeds. But her words are simple, small talk as they say...
Even the brave ones have to work up to some things.

Shoshannah Mitchell
An eyebrow raises and the long, lean (way to pretty in a way that makes her stand out as Not Quite Right all the more) teenager leans lightly against the bike, stopping within conversational distance of the Akashic.  "I'm . . . fantastic, thanks."  This is clearly just a thing to say, a conversation filler.  "You look like you could use some sleep."
It's not said harshly, or with any sort of antagonism - it's just the truth, plainly seen.
"What's up?"

Mara Andrews
It seems Mara's witty attempt to dissuade her fellow mage from anything being a miss had failed. She reaches up and scratches at the fuzz that was her hair, the woman having not taken the time to shave it down in the last few days. She seems to regard Shoshannah speculatively for a few moments before she let out a soft breath.
"Things have been... kinda crazy lately." A slow nod is given as she looks around and gestures Shoshannah closer, drawing the dreamspeaker close enough for her hushed tones to be properly conspiratorial.
"Just how up to date on recent events are you girl? I mean, have you heard what happened at the warehouse?" She inquires, seeing just how much catch up she'd have to play with the beauty before her. "I've been out of the loop so I don't really know who know's what."

Shoshannah Mitchell
"Some of it.  I helped Sid look for the cameras, after."  And she's spoken with Leah, and will soon be moving out to the Chantry, and . . .  It's been an eventful couple weeks for everyone.  "And I talked to Leah, and Annie's . . . Annie.  What's your line?"
She means: what's got Mara all stressed, though goodness knows there's enough for everyone going around.

Mara Andrews
There seemed to be a good bit of news floating around that Mara was unaware off,  leah? Annie? At least one of those names sounds familiar and after a few minutes the woman's eyes widen in both surprise, and a hint of worry.
"Wait...so your saying they found the girl?" She asks....looking entirely flabbergasted. "Shit I have been out of the loop...I thought Sera was gonna let me know the plan." She bites her lip then and takes several deep breaths, working to calm herself back down as she mulls this bit of information over.
When at last she seems a tab more in control she steps close once more and speaks quietly. "I was...approached recently." She said tentatively as her eyes took in the area around them, watching for signs of...something.
"I'm pretty sure...they were Techno's of some kind. They want to find that girl..and they want to eliminate the Nephandi who are coming for her...I don't know what they want with her though...I've been keeping out of touch to try and avoid giving them any leads....but, well...someones gotta know."

Shoshannah Mitchell
"The plan is, we help her try to help herself.  It's been done before, according to the Library."  Or maybe it's wishful thinking on the part of a girl who could easily be taken as a Nephandus herself, or maybe it's bullshit, who knows?  But Mara's never heard so much feeling in the girl's voice.
Well, barring irritation - but that's just Shoshannah's natural state.
"And we're not letting anyone get her.  Maybe we can help the Techs get the Nephandi, though - wouldn't be a bad move, if we could rig it."

Mara Andrews
Mara nods the look on her face saying she had expected that, that was the plan she had heard as well so long ago in a cramped little motel room. "Hey, I'm all for it if it can be done, I know shit all about that sorta thing...other then it can be ridiculously dangerous." That last part puts a confident little smile on Mara's lips, the woman not at all adverse to a little danger.
"As to the Tech's...well from what I know, rigging anything against them is like trying to direct an avalanche...you can do it....but damage happens regardless." She shrugs. "I've got their contact info.." She takes out a pencil from her jacket pocket, the poor thing worn down to the nub, and a piece of balled up paper. "I'll give it you you....you can pass it on if you catch the others before I do."
She writes it down then, scribbling down the details she knows, the email, the names of the people she met. She pauses once she's done to look it over, ensuring it was correct before holding it out to Shoshannah.
"Gotta keep everyone in the loop right? Sides, I sure as hell ain't making that sorta call for everyone."

Shoshannah Mitchell
"Right.  Thanks - at the very least, I see Padre and Annie pretty often."  This is true; Shoshannah sees the two of them more than she sees anyone else, really.  "I'll pass the information along."
There's a brief pause, and then, "I'm not at Padre's any more after today.  I'll be out there, at the place."  There's a vague wave that means somewhere farther than anywhere in the city, but not terribly far; the Dreamspeaker has no idea if anyone's brought Mara out to the Chantry yet, or if she even knows about it.
"It's not a bad place at all."  Just lonely for a teenage girl, at the moment, though goodness knows Shoshannah's anything but average.  She'll make it work.

Mara Andrews
Mara raises a brow as Shoshannah gestures to somewhere in a general direction, and cryptically discusses a place, and how it wasn't all that bad. It took only a moment for her to put two and two together and her eyes widened once again. She looked away, hiding whatever emotion played across her face before looking back.
"Thanks for passing the information along. Hopefully I'll see you around alright?" She says as she takes a step back, offer a friendly wave to the Dreamspeaker. She still had that drawn, worried look in the depths of her eyes...but it seemed that was the staple of the times they lived in.
"Adios Shoshannah." Her voice is muted in that goodbye, and she moves off at a quick clip...to who knows where.
